Fannie Ward (February 22, 1872 – January 27, 1952), vaudeville performer turned early silent film star, best remembered now for her role as Edith Harvey in Cecil B deMille’s The Cheat (1915).
Ward was known for desire to cling to youth…and largely succeeding. She said on one occasion she wished to look like a little girl.
I’m interested in her largely because she was dressed by Martial et Armand, a French house that doesn’t receive as much recognition today as it deserves.
